General
- For most issues, start with verifying game files in steam as this checks your files are correct
Game Crashes
- Crashing on launch - check you meet the minimum specifications, then try deleting the config_dx11.ini in Le Mans Ultimate/User Data. Additionally, ensure your Anti-virus is not interfering with game files
- Clear out shaders - Le Mans Ultimate\UserData\Log\Shaders, and delete the dynamic.cache file. Next launch the game will be slow to load the tracks and cars as it is rebuilding the shaders.
-
Some plugins are causing crashes - to disable:
- Navigate to Steam\steamapps\common\Le Mans Ultimate\UserData\player\CustomPluginVariables.JSON,
- Open the file and set "Enabled" to 0 on all entries,
- Save and re-open the game
Gameplay
- Poor frame rate/FPS - reduce graphics settings, particularly "Post Effects" and try clearing shaders (see game crashes)
- Cars stuttering on track - reduce the number of opponents and "post-fx" in graphics (temporary notice - disabling "Steam Input" can help some users with some controllers/wheels)
- Losing Force Feedback (FFB) - map a "Reset FFB" button in Settings > Controls and use when appropriate
Online
- Button is greyed out - Either you need to accept the policies in Profile (click on the pencil to edit and accept) or restart Steam (your Steam session has ended)
- Disconnecting/Unable to Connect - In general make sure you are on a wired connection but follow the link for more details
Controllers
- Check in Windows that your controllers are properly calibrated - Start > type in “Set Up USB Game Controllers” and recalibrate there if necessary
- Try reassigning your axis or buttons in Settings > Controls > Wheel & Pedals > Primary Controls
- Some manufacturers have posted specific advice for Le Mans Ultimate on their forums and other locations
- Try deleting direct input.json, current controls.json, keyboard.json, and gamepad.json. They are located in: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Le Mans Ultimate\UserData\player by default.
- If it seems like your in-game wheel and wheel in your hands don’t match check
- The steering wheel range in Settings > Controls > Wheel & Pedals > Calibrate is set to the same as your driver settings
- Steering assist is turned off
- If you get double-shifting when changing gear, you can change “Repeat Shifts” in Settings > Gameplay
- Note: You may be blocked from downshifting (you will hear a beep) this is due to gearbox protection on the cars to prevent you from over-revving the engine and breaking it
