1. Important - Before You Start

These affect a wide range of players. Check these first.

  • Le Mans Ultimate is only supported on Windows machines that meet the minimum requirements. Mac, Linux and Steam Deck are unsupported.
  • Plugins causing crashes - To disable: navigate to Steam\steamapps\common\Le Mans Ultimate\UserData\player\CustomPluginVariables.JSON, open the file and set "Enabled" to 0 on all entries, save and re-open the game.
  • "Failed to allocate a section of memory" - Your Windows page file may be too small, particularly if you have less than 32GB RAM. You should have at least 32GB of virtual memory. See Common Fixes for instructions.
  • Windows region settings - Users that have their decimal set as , and digit group symbol as . should invert these. The game may not launch without standard formatting.
  • Reshade is no longer supported. The game will not launch if Reshade is installed.
  • 0xc000007b error - A local file is incompatible with the game. Reinstalling should fix this (delete any leftover files first). Usually caused by a custom VR runtime or Reshade.
  • Intel GPU users - There is a known issue with Intel GPU drivers. Older driver version 6262 is believed to work for most cards. You may also need to turn off the rearview mirror (Settings > Graphics > Visuals > Mirrors).

2. Controllers and Input Devices

  • Thrustmaster devices disconnecting (TMX, T818, T248, T150, T300RS) - Can disconnect after multiple sessions. Completely reinstall Thrustmaster software and firmware.
  • Losing Force Feedback (FFB) - Map a "Reset FFB" button in Settings > Controls and use it when appropriate.
  • Fanatec GT DD Pro - Assigning "Brake Migration Forward" or "Brake Bias Forward" to a wheel button will cause it to be repeatedly pressed.
  • Logitech wheels stuck to one side - Enable "Constant Steering Force" in settings.
  • Pedal manufacturers not supporting GameInput - Set "DirectInput Fallback": true in controls.json (LMU/Userdata/Player), then reset to default in-game.
  • Controllers cannot navigate menus, including the pause screen.
  • Controller users may experience higher tyre degradation due to more aggressive inputs.
  • To adjust controller vibration, adjust "Force Feedback" in settings.
  • Steering doesn't match your physical wheel - Check the steering wheel range in Settings > Controls > Wheel & Pedals > Calibrate matches your driver settings, and that Steering Assist is off.
  • Double-shifting when changing gear - Change "Repeat Shifts" in Settings > Gameplay. Note: downshift blocking is normal gearbox protection against over-rev.

3. Online and Connectivity

  • Online is greyed out - Either: (a) you need to create an online account and/or accept the terms and competition rules (click Profile then the pencil icon), or (b) your Steam authentication has expired - restart Steam fully via the system tray.
  • Unable to join servers - Ensure your Windows time zone is set to "automatic". Verify game file integrity in Steam (you may need to delete the "Installed" folder first).
  • Players based in Russia are unable to connect to most servers due to regional restrictions.
  • Profile name changes - You cannot change your name more than once in a 3-month period (no in-game warning is shown).
  • Duplicate names - If another player shares your name, you'll be given a suffix like #1234. Change your name to something unique to remove the numbers.

4. On-Track and Gameplay

  • Ultra settings are performance heavy and may cause poor frame rates.
  • Cars stuttering on track - Reduce the number of opponents and "Post-FX" in graphics settings.
  • Low grip - Check your Real Road setting has some rubber applied (Advanced Session Settings). There are no tyre warmers in WEC (except Le Mans) by default, but you can enable them in settings. Also check road temperatures, which are separate from ambient temperature.
  • LMP2 tyres - Spinning can cause inflated temperatures that are difficult to reduce. This is a known physics issue being worked on.
  • Late joining online sessions - If you join after the timer has expired, you will not have control of the car.
  • Temporary car skins - If a user joins after you, they may appear in a temporary Porsche 911 GTE skin. Return to the pitlane and enter the setup menu, or map a button to "Load Vehicles" to reload skins. Do not use while driving as it may cause a screen freeze.
  • Save and Load - Motor map and regen settings cannot be changed after loading a save file.

5. Co-op

  • Average lap time statistic does not always work correctly.
  • Score updates are not always displayed after receiving a handover.
  • During a pitstop, the stint review menu can display drive time as 0h 0m.
  • Motor map and regen settings cannot be changed after loading into a session.
  • Tip: The team creator can still reassign drivers via the drop-down menu after using the swap driver button.
  • Tip: Handing a session back to the host after they have closed it restores the session.

6. Hosted Servers

  • Hosted Servers do not currently support full rolling lap start.
  • When joining, the event screen may show an incorrect map for circuits with alternate layouts, but the correct track will load.

7. User Interface

  • Upon leaving a server, the UI can occasionally freeze in a dead state without crashing. Manually close and reopen the application.
  • The UI may not disappear when pressing Drive. Press Escape twice to resolve.

8. VR (Virtual Reality)

  • Motion Blur is completely disabled in VR.
  • When loading replays from the main menu in VR, the replay will only show on the VR mirror.

9. AI

  • The AI will occasionally come too close when being lapped in some situations.

10. Vehicles and Balance of Performance

  • BoP is not final and will be iterated on in future updates, per track.
  • ABS has been significantly changed in recent updates, affecting handling.
  • The highest in-car traction control settings can significantly affect top speed.

11. Localisations

  • Translations may result in odd text placements or UI clipping.
  • Some translated phrases may need further review.
  • Some words or phrases may be missing translations.
