Gameplay assists are available to be used to help you play at a level that suits you. Here is a list of the assists available and what they do:
ABS (Anti-locking Braking System) - This reduces the chance of the wheels locking up during breaking. Please note - LMGT3 cars have this enabled on the car and the driving assist does not apply.
Stability Control - Helps prevent skidding and losing control. More stable, but at a cost.
Auto Shifting - Changes gears for you
Braking Help - Brakes before corners for you
Steering Help - Steers through corners for you (level depends how much)
Invulnerability - Your car doesn't receive damage
Opposite Lock - Prevents the car from spinning performing risky manoeuvres
Spin Recovery - Rotates your car to the correct direction after crashing
Auto pitlane - Manages the pitlane procedure for you
Hold Brakes - Holds brakes until and input is detected
Hold Clutch - Holds clutch until and input is detected
Auto Start Engine - Starts the engine automatically (otherwise you will need to map a button)
Auto Windscreen Wipers - Automatically starts the wipers and chooses the level based on the level of rain (otherwise you will need to map a button)
Auto Headlights - Turns on headlights automatically when it gets dark
Auto Reverse - Automatically shifts to reverse when braking. Auto shifting must be turned on
Auto Pit Speed Limiter - Automatically puts on the pitlane speed limiter when crossing the line. Note: it does not reduce your speed on the entry.
Please note: some online races may have some assists disabled - you can see this on the event page.
Penalties
Assist do come with some penalties to make the racing more fair. The penalty scales with the level (ie. low assist carries less weight than medium or high)

Any assists not on this table do not apply penalties
Assist penalties apply to all game modes
