Different event types in Le Mans Ultimate have different eligibility requirements based on your Safety Rank (SR) and Driver Contact Badge. This article explains what's required and why you might be blocked from registering.
What Are SR and Driver Badges?
- Safety Rank (SR) measures how cleanly you race. It runs from Bronze (entry level) through Silver, Gold, and Platinum, with three sub-tiers at each level (e.g. Bronze 1, Bronze 2, Bronze 3). Your SR is shown on your profile. See What is Safety Rank? for detail.
- Driver Contact Badges are awarded based on your contact ratio over your last 10 races. Badges include Rookie (first 10 races), Good Driver, Trusted Driver, Warning, and Probation. See Badges on Le Mans Ultimate for the full breakdown.
These two systems work independently - you can have a high SR but a Warning badge if your incidents are concentrated, or vice versa.
Event Eligibility by Type
Daily Races
Daily Races have three tiers, each with different SR requirements:
- Beginner - Open to all players. Runs every hour. High assists, fixed setups, single car class.
- Intermediate - Requires Silver Safety Rank. Runs every 2 hours. Longer races, multiclass introduced.
- Advanced - Requires Gold Safety Rank. Runs every 3 hours. Low/no assists, full multiclass.
Daily Races reset every Tuesday around 12pm UTC. See What are Daily Races? for more detail.
Special Events
Generally open to all players. Some events may have a minimum SR tier shown on the event card. Check the event details before registering.
Online Championships (Pro / Pro+ required)
Online Championships require a RaceControl Pro or Pro+ subscription. Individual championship events may also have minimum SR requirements listed in the event description.
Team Endurance Events
Team events have stricter requirements that apply to every member of the team:
- Both drivers must be Bronze 2 or above
- Both drivers must hold a Good Driver or Trusted Driver badge (not Rookie, Warning, or Probation)
If either driver in the team doesn't meet these requirements, the whole team will be blocked from registering. The SR shown on the team registration page is the team SR, which may differ from your individual SR.
Why Am I Blocked From Registering?
- "SR too low" - Your SR is below the event minimum. Completing clean races in Daily Races will improve it over time.
- "Badge requirement not met" - Your Driver Contact Badge is at Warning or Probation level. Reducing your contact ratio over your next 10 races will improve your badge.
- Team event blocked despite good SR - Check your Driver Contact Badge. Team events require both SR and badge requirements to be met by all team members. Confirm your teammate also meets the threshold.
- Subscription required - Online Championships need a Pro or Pro+ subscription. See Which Subscription Do I Need?
